C# has become one of the most widely used programming languages in Poland’s thriving technology sector. Developed by Microsoft in 2000, C# powers everything from enterprise applications to mobile apps and video games.
But how prevalent is C# amongst Polish developers? We crunched the numbers using LinkedIn and Ntiative Business Insights data to uncover key insights.
By The Numbers
- 30,396 C# professionals across 25 software engineering roles
- 3,343 new C# profiles added in the last 12 months
- 5,158 changed jobs in the last year
- 1,029 open C# roles listed
- 6,100 open to new opportunities
- 90% male, 10% female
- Average Length of Service: 1.6 years
Salary Ranges
| Level | B2B (PLN monthly) | UoP (PLN monthly) |
|---|---|---|
| Junior | 10,000 – 15,000 | 8,000 – 13,000 |
| Mid | 15,000 – 21,000 | 14,000 – 20,000 |
| Senior | 22,000 – 30,000 | 21,000 – 25,000 |
| Expert | 26,000+ | 24,000+ |
| Lead | 26,000+ | 23,000+ |
C# professionals command strong salaries, especially at senior levels. But movement between jobs is also high, indicating strong demand.
We released a .NET/C# developer salary report last year, which is still pretty accurate.
Top Locations
Warsaw and Krakow unsurprisingly have the largest talent pools, but other cities also boast sizable C# communities:
- Warsaw: 6,545
- Krakow: 3,903
- Wroclaw: 3,565
- Gdansk: 2,854
- Katowice: 2,360
- Poznan: 1,754
These secondary tech hubs offer opportunities with less competition from major enterprises. Geographic diversity provides options both for job seekers and employers.
Feeder Universities
Technical universities cultivate strong C# talent pipelines:
- Wroclaw University of Economics and Business
- AGH University of Krakow
- Warsaw University of Technology
- The Silesian University of Technology
- Gdansk University of Technology
Relationships between employers and these institutions can unlock early access to graduates with in-demand skills.
Major Employers
The top companies hiring C# developers by existing talent pool are:
- EPAM Systems (509)
- Sii Poland (427)
- Capgemini (266)
- Intel Corporation (247)
- Motorola Solutions (239)
But the fastest-growing talent pools paint a different picture:
- Xebia Poland (+76%)
- Vention (+63%)
- Kaseya (+62%)
- Onwelo (+52%)
- Box (+48%)
Rapidly expanding companies indicate where future demand may shift.
Associated Skills
C# professionals frequently list skills like:
- SQL (59%)
- .NET Framework (56%)
- Git (55%)
- JavaScript (53%)
- Microsoft SQL Server (39%)
This reflects integration with Microsoft’s ecosystem. But modern web development skills like Python and AWS also ranked highly, showing C#’s versatility:
- Python (23%)
- AWS (fastest-growing skill at +57%)
The Takeaway
With over 30,000 practitioners and growing demand from startups and enterprises, C# will continue powering Polish innovation. Well-paid roles span gaming, finance, healthcare, and other flourishing sectors.
For employers, C# access remains strong thanks to leading universities and ongoing training programs. But competition for experienced talent is increasing. Attractive compensation, remote work options, and the latest technologies can help secure these valuable team members.
The future looks bright for Poland’s C# community!
