The challenge of Polish market entry

In early 2021, the company chose to open a hub in Krakow to centralise its technical functions. The primary hurdle was the scale and speed required. Grass Valley needed to build an entire IT department from nothing, which involved selecting an office and hiring a full range of staff from Juniors to C-level executives. They also needed to establish legal, financial, and HR support structures for a Shared Service Centre.

Our recruitment and back office delivery

To meet the short timelines, we assembled a dedicated project team that was larger than our standard recruitment setup. Our team included six recruiters and a dedicated account manager focused on finding technical talent. We acted as an extension of their team, managing the recruitment process while advising on the local operational requirements in Poland. This included mapping the local market for both talent and physical office space.

Over 18 months of cooperation, our team reviewed more than 1,000 candidates and conducted 600 interviews. This resulted in 166 successful hires for their new hub in Krakow. We also secured their physical office space. By using our group resources and a fixed-fee model, Grass Valley achieved a 50% reduction in recruitment costs compared to standard agency fees. We continue to provide recruitment and consultancy for Grass Valley today.
