The business challenge in the Krakow market

Metso previously relied on outsourced software development teams for their technical projects. In 2023, they decided to bring this work in-house by establishing a dedicated team in Krakow. The company needed to hire every key function, including a site manager, HR director, and engineering manager, while also selecting an office. They required a partner who could manage this transition and onboard 100 people while offboarding the old outsourced teams.

 

The technical hiring and consultancy approach

We won the RFP to act as the local partner for the Krakow hub setup in late 2023. We used our recruiters in Warsaw and our HR and payroll team in Krakow to manage the project. Our team performed market mapping to identify talent and conducted executive searches for top-level leadership roles. We managed the full recruitment cycle for developers and engineers while providing project management and consultancy on the hub setup.

Project results and ongoing success

We hired the key leadership functions and 100 technical staff over a 12-month period. This allowed Metso to successfully move their development in-house and offboard their previous external vendors. By using our consultancy and recruitment framework, the company reduced its hiring and operational costs by 35%. We are now preparing to start a second project with Metso later this year.
