Nike is a global athletic footwear and apparel company established in 1964. The business is one of the most recognised brands in the world and is known for technical designs and international marketing. To grow its technical operations, the company chose to expand its existing centre in Gdansk.

Nike wanted to add specific technical roles to its Gdansk operations. Gdansk is a highly competitive market where engineers have high expectations regarding pay and benefits. The company had to find these specialists while following strict salary ranges for permanent employment contracts. This required a team that understood the local market and could represent the brand effectively to attract top engineers.

We assigned four of our recruiters to this project to work as an embedded team within the internal department at Nike. This team operated under the Nike brand to manage the full recruitment process. Working from inside the company allowed our staff to understand the internal requirements and find people who matched the corporate culture.

Technical roles recruited

• DevOps engineers to manage system operations

• Data engineers to handle information systems

• Backend engineers for software development

The hiring plan was finished on time and followed the agreed schedule. The project continued until a global hiring freeze occurred across the company in late 2023. By using our embedded recruitment team rather than standard agency methods, Nike reduced its hiring costs by 25%.
