What the job entails

As an Android Software Engineer, you will own the mobile client experience and help define how AI feels, behaves, and performs on Android. This is a hands-on product engineering role focused on building a production Android application where AI interactions are central to the experience.

You will build and maintain Android apps in Kotlin, integrate AI-powered features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs, and design smooth UX patterns for streaming responses, retries, and partial results. You will also optimize performance, memory usage, and responsiveness across AI-heavy flows, while implementing analytics, logging, and feedback capture to improve evaluation and iteration. In close collaboration with backend and ML engineers, you will help ensure app stability, security, scalability, and clear behavior in production environments.

  • Experience integrating AI features such as LLM, vision, or speech APIs
  • Strong knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, REST or gRPC, and structured data formats
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills
  • Comfort working in latency-sensitive, partially failing, non-deterministic environments
  • Experience with MLKit or light on-device inference [suggestion]
  • Published production apps on the Google Play Store [suggestion]
